Affordable housing project announced in Caldwell County

A majour housing development has been announced in Caldwell County.

WPKY reported Wednesday an announcement was made by Caldwell County officials Tuesday night as Caldwell Judge Executive Kota Young announced a 60 unit housing facility known as Madison Mills Apartments will be constructed.

The three story facility will be constructed at the former Hosiery Mill lot on West Washington Street and aims to provide much-needed housing  for those 55 and older.

Young called the project the largest residential development Caldwell County has seen in many years.  He added the project will include a significant investment in stormwater infrastructure, which will help address persistent flooding problems in the neighborhood.
