One man is in critical condition after a shooting incident at a Marshall County service station on Thursday afternoon.
Marshall County Sheriff's Office responded to the service station on Martling Road, where they discovered one male subject suffering from a gun shot wound to the chest. The victim was flown to a nearby hospital for further treatment.
Detectives obtained video footage from the service station and statements from witnesses and were able to identify a suspect and the vehicle that the suspect was traveling in.
With additional information obtained from law enforcement in Alabama, the suspect's vehicle was discovered at a residence in Crossville, Alabama.
An overnight search of the property and surrounding area was conducted, but the suspect was not located.
Early on Friday, the suspect traveled back to the Marshall County Sheriff's Office and surrendered. Bobby Keith Ashley, 52, of Albertville, Alabama was arrested and charged with attempted murder. He is currently incarcerated in the Marshall County jail with no bond pending a hearing.
The victim is currently still hospitalized and remains in stable, but critical condition.
