Another scam has popped up where victims are told they missed jury duty and can pay to have it go away.
The McCracken County Sheriff’s Office said that several victims have been contacted by people claiming to be deputies. The scammers are telling people that they have a warrant out for them because they missed their jury appointment. They are told they can make a payment to avoid being arrested.
Law enforcement will not contact you if you have a warrant, and they will not take a payment, so you won’t get arrested.
The Sheriff’s Office reminds everyone not to convert money into cryptocurrency for transfer, do not transfer money electronically to anyone you don’t know.
