The very warm month of March ended with a day in the record books across the region.
The National Weather Service recorded 84 degrees on Tuesday at Paducah, Evansville, Cape Girardeau and Poplar Bluff. Paducah and Evansville tied their all-time marks for the date, set in Paducah in 1986 and in Evansville in 1981.
Cape Girardeau and Poplar Bluff set new daily records by one degree. Cape's old mark was recorded in 1986, and Poplar Bluff in 1983.
Carbondale climbed to 85 degrees on Tuesday, which broke their all-time record of 83 set in 1940.
Local highs could continue in the 80s through Friday.
