In response to the continuing partial government shutdown in Washington, Barkley Regional Airport is launching a food drive for affected federal employees.

The “Fuel the Frontline” Food Drive is to support the TSA officers who serve travelers here in the Purchase Region.

Donations of unopened, unexpired non-perishable food items can be dropped off inside the terminal beginning near the airline check-in counter.

Suggested items include canned goods, peanut butter, baby formula, pasta, rice, cereal, and snack bars. All donations will go directly to TSA officers working at Barkley.

More details can be found at this link.

Local businesses and churhes have also been providing meals from area restaurants to the TSA staff.

If your business, church, or organization would like to provide support, contact Kat in the Barkley Administrative Office at (270) 744-0521 to coordinate.
