During Tuesday's night's meeting, the Paducah Board of Commissioners heard and viewed an update on the Riverfront Infrastructure Improvement Project, known as the BUILD Grant.
City Engineer Greg Guebert told commissioners that crews have installed support pilings and are currently placing the pier's decking.
Work is also underway in the park area between the transient dock and the floodwall.
Features in that area include terrace seating, green space and a decorative compass rose through the Harrison Street floodwall opening.
At the Convention Center parking lot, the Greenway Trail has been extended. A main entrance to and from Park Avenue has been reworked with new lane adjustments for better access.
At Second Street and Jefferson, one of the new bus shelters has been installed. The other one is located near Walker Hall.
Near the foot of Broadway at the opening where the city's Christmas tree is lit, a concrete "grand staircase" has been poured that extends down to the lower walkwaya along the river.
The project began last November with grand opening expected this September,
