City of Paducah preparing its fiscal year budget

The City of Paducah is preparing its budget fo the 2026-27 fiscal year.

During its meeting Tuesday night, Paducah's Board of Commissioners heard from city finance director Audra Kyle. 

She said the current year's general fund expenses total more than $51 million, with 68 percent of that total allocated to personnel costs.

Kyle noted that general fund expenses are expected to increase by $2.2 million over the previous year. 

Updates on the new fiscal year budget will be provided over the next several meetings.

The entire budget is scheduled to be introduced at the May 26th commission meeting, with adoption expected in June.
