Boater found dead on Kentucky Lake in Tennessee

The death of a boater on Kentucky Lake was reported in Tennessee this week.

Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency officers responded Tuesday evening in Stewart County for a report of a boater who had not returned on time. 

They determined that 63-year-old Mark Powell had launched a small boat from Piney Campground to work on a duck blind. 
Officers found Powell's body along the bank in the water about 65 yards from the boat ramp. 

TWRA said it was the second boating-related death in 2024 on Kentucky Lake.
