Wednesday night crash sends one to the hospital, another to jail

A Wednesday night crash in McCracken County sent one person to the hospital and another to jail.

The crash happened just after 10 p.m. near Benton Road and Oaks Road. The investigation by McCracken County Sheriff’s deputies indicated that a pickup driven by Caleb Henry of Kevil struck a van driven by Leroy Ferguson of Paducah. Ferguson was attempting to turn from Benton to Oaks Road at the time of the crash.

Leanne Gibbs of Paducah was a passenger in Ferguson’s van and was injured in the crash. She was taken to a local hospital for treatment. Ferguson and the other two juvenile passengers were not hurt.

Henry was reportedly under the influence at the time of the crash. He was arrested and charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol with aggravating circumstances, along with four counts of wanton endangerment and no registration plates.
