A body discovered Friday at Kentucky Lake was identified over the weekend.

Marshall County first responders were called to a report of a small boat in the water in the Twin Lakes mooring area near Jonathan Creek. With the boat they found the body, later identified by Chief Deputy Coroner Curt Curtner as 50-year-old James Collins of Benton.

Curtner said Collins had been camping near Jonathan Creek.

The cause of Collins’ death is unknown.  An autopsy has been scheduled.

That was one of two bodies that were discovered in the lake last week.

On Monday, the body of 38-year-old Aaron Treat of Calvert City was discovered near Southern Komfort Camp and Marina. Treat had been reported missing by family, and a search was ongoing when the report of a body came into the Marshall County Sheriff's Office. Deputies, the Marshall County Rescue Squad, and the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife responded to recover the body.

Treat was taken for an autopsy at the regional medical examiner's office in Madisonville. Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife is continuing the investigation.
