After Gov. Andy Beshear spent his Sunday visiting the flood-stricken eastern end of the state, he crossed the commonwealth with the First Lady on Monday for a series of stops in western Kentucky.

The governor stopped in at Marion where he spoke with local leaders about the ongoing water crisis, and visited with National Guard troops who are distributing bottled water at the old armory.

Beshear also announced $975,000 in funding for the Crittenden-Livingston County Water District to install 21 miles of water main.

Beshear spoke to the Mayfield Rotary Club at their luncheon and got an update on the city's tornado recovery. He said that $193 million has been dispersed to the state's tornado-damaged communities.

First Lady Britainy Beshear made her way to Princeton, and helped hand out shoes and school supplies to children in Caldwell County who were affected by the December tornado.

The governor also visited Hopkinsville with word of an additional $2 million in funds for clean water projects in Christian County, and a $13 million grant to the Pennyrile Rural Electric Cooperative for internet expansion in Christian, Lyon, Trigg and Todd counties.
