Livingston Sheriff's Office investigating capsized boat near Smithland riverfront, seeks help from the public

The Livingston County Sheriff's Office on Thursday responded to a report of a capsized jon boat discovered near the Smithland riverfront.

Deputies coordinated a search effort alongside Livingston County Emergency Management, focusing on the shoreling and surrounding waters.

At this time, the owner of the boat is unknown, and it is unclear if anyone may be missing in connection with the incident. 

Anyone with information about the boat, or those who know of anyone who may have been in the area recently, are asked to contact the Livingston County Sheriff's Office at 270-928-2122.
