In a meeting earlier this week, Caldwell Fiscal Court approved the sale of the former Caldwell County Health Department building.

WPKY reported there were ten bids ranging from $15,000 to $81,000 for the former facility on Hawthorne Street, with the highest bid of $81,000 submitted by Dr. Patel which the court accepted.

In other action,: Judge Executive Kota Young told magistrates the county has been awarded a $191,500 grant from the state Homeland Security Grant Program to help purchase 45 local radios, covering a portion of the total cost of approximately $310,000.

The 45 radios will fully equip all of the county’s frontline emergency response departments, with the local funding match shared between the county and the city.  The court approved purchasing the radios.
