Calvert City named Kentucky's city government of the year

The City of Calvert City has been named as this year's City Government of the Year by the Kentucky League of Cities. 

An independent panel of judges selected Calvert City from several nominations, recognizing the city for its "transformational achievements and outstanding leadership."

The Kentucky League of Cities is a nonprofit organization founded in 1927, currently representing 380 cities across the Commonwealth. 

It has presented the City Government of the Year Award annually since 1999, 

The award will be formally presented to Calvert City officials at the KLC Conference on September 26 in Owensboro.
