Flash flood watch tonight through Saturday for Illinois, Missouri

The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood watch for all of southern Illinois and most of southeast Missouri from tonight through Saturday morning.

At this time, the watch does not include western Kentucky or the Missouri Bootheel.

Several rounds of rain and thunderstorms are expected tonight, and again Friday into Saturday.

Repeated rounds of heavy rainfall may result in flash flooding.

A few storms may become strong to severe with damaging winds being the primary hazard.
