Summit Christian University in Mayfield is offering a tuition free path to an Associates Degree for Mayfield and Graves County residents.

The program is called the 12/10 Project and aims to give a hand up to people in the community that have experienced the devastation of the December 10th tornado.

Dr. Keith Roach, President of Summit Christian University, spoke to West Kentucky Star and said he was drawn to a scripture that tied in with the project name.

"As I was thinking about it, and praying about it, I came across a passage of scripture from Romans 12:10, and it just kind of fit right in with what we were thinking about. That passage of scripture says "Be devoted to one another in brotherly love, and honor one another above yourselves."

Roach said that this is a pretty quick path to a degree.

"The way we've got it set up, it starts at the end of April and will run til June of 2024. That's when graduation will be for these people, and we will get their classes in. That's just a little over two years that they will get their Associates Degree."

Space is limited for the 12/10 Project, with only 20 total spots available. Classes will begin on April 19th. Tuition will be free to those in the program, with the only cost being a $60 fee per course.
