A traffic stop in Calloway County on Friday night landed a Murray in jail on a drug charge.
A Calloway County Sheriff’s deputy stopped a vehicle along KY 94 for a traffic violation. The deputy suspected there could be drugs in the car and called in a K-9 from the Marshall County Sheriff's Office to sniff. The dog reportedly hit on the presence of drugs. A search of the vehicle and the driver, 47-year-old Willie T. Ransey of Murray, turned up more than 30 grams of cocaine and cash believed to be from the sale of drugs.
Ransey was arrested and charged with trafficking in cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia, along with several traffic violations.
