Gas prices continue to climb in the region

Following the Labor Day holiday, consumers are paying higher prices at the pump this week.

Triple A's East Central Gas Report released Tuesday finds gas prices in the region stand at an average of $3.75 per gallon this week, up 13 cents from a week ago.

Paducah's average price this week is just under the region average at $3.72 per gallon.  The national average this week is at $4.15 per gallon, up six cents from last week.

The high cost of crude oil is the reason for higher prices.  Crude is currently averaging $91.01 per barrel.
