The extreme heat is a memory, and the cool weekend temperatures were a welcome relief.
Now this week the pendulum starts to swing back toward the warm side for the first half of August.
After a few more days of highs in the mid-80s, temperatures near 90 will return later in the week.
The trend continues next week, too. NOAA's extended 6- to 10-day outlook is leaning toward temperatures slightly above normal.
Paducah's historical average high for the first half of August is 90 degrees.
As humidities rise, there's also a chance for precipitation chances slightly above normal for the extended period.
