A Hardin man wanted on an active parole warrant was take into custody in Marshall County following a pursuit and traffic crash.

The Marshall County Sheriff's Office said 32-year-old Samuel J. Brackett was wanted on a number of parole violations.  

Upon seeing deputies pull into the parking lot area of Moors Marina, Brackett fled the area at a high rate of speed. Deputies attempted to conduct a traffic stop and a brief pursuit ensued.

During the pursuit, Brackett lost control of his vehicle and crashed into a parked vehicle outside of a residence on Moors Road.

Due to the collision, the resident's parked vehicle was shoved forward into the living room of the residence. Another parked vehicle also sustained damage in the accident.

One resident of the home sustained minor injuries and was transported via ambulance for treatment. Brackett  was treated on scene and taken into custody.

Upon further investigation, Brackett was discovered to be in possession of a handgun, and impaired.

Brackett was served with the parole violation warrant and additionally charged with the following: speeding, reckless driving, attempted assault, fleeing or evading police, two counts of criminal mischief , possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, operating a motor vehicle under the influence 4th offense, wanton endangerment, failure of owner to maintain required insurance and improper registration plate.
