Motorists who travel westbound I-24 in southern Christian County may see traffic return to four lanes by the end of July.
WKDZ reported Monday the $25 million dollar Kentucky Transportation Cabinet project is running ahead of schedule.
The project began in March with approximately five miles of I-24 from mile marker 93 at the Tennessee state line to mile marker 88 at Oak Grove being completely reconstructed.
KYTC District 2 Public Information Officer Matt Hughes said the current traffic configuration, which has both westbound lanes closed is expected to end before the mid-August projected date.
