I-57 in southern Illinois closed for hours after 3-vehicle crash in Pulaski County

A section of I-57 in southern Illinois was closed for seven hours and one person was airlifted to a hospital after a three-vehicle crash in Pulaski County.

According to Illinois State Police, the crash happened around 9:40 on Thursday night on southbound I-57 around milepost 8.

They said the crash involved a semi truck.

Southbound traffic was diverted at milepost 16, with one lane reopening around 4:39 a.m. on Friday.

Troopers said all lanes reopened just after 6 a.m.
