Meteorologists are not finding much change in the latest update for the approach of Hurricane Isaias and its impact on our region this weekend.
Landfall in the Gulf Shores area of Mississippi, Alabama and Florida is still anticipated to be around midnight Friday night into early Saturday morning.
Locally, rain from its remnants are expected to begin here on Saturday morning, peak in the afternoon and taper off by Sunday morning. Around 1 to 1.5 inches of rainfall is expected, with the highest amounts over western Kentucky. Wind gusts of 20 to 30 mph may develop Saturday afternoon.
The main impacts look to be on any outdoor events sensitive to rain, and the probability for more significant impacts such as flooding or tornadoes appears to be remaining low.
The remaining "eye" of the remnants is predicted to be over middle Tennessee on Sunday morning, and moving away over eastern Kentucky on Sunday afternoon.
