Kuttawa woman arrested with illegal firearm near Lyon County campground

A Kuttawa woman was arrested while possessing a handgun near a Lyon County campground on Saturday.

The Lyon County Sheriff's office said 36-year-old Amanda K. Overbaugh of Kuttawa was detained near a campground off KY 1055 following a trespassing complaint. Deputies learned she was in possession of a handgun and ammunition.

According to the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office, Overbaugh is prohibited to possess a firearm due to multiple previous burglary and meth-related offenses.

Overbaugh was also recently charged in an unrelated criminal trespassing incident near Kuttawa, which is still pending at the Lyon District Court.

Overbaugh was arrested and charged with possession of a handgun by a convicted felon. She was taken to the Crittenden County Detention Center.
