Longtime Caldwell magistrate Bennett will not seek reelection

A fixture on Caldwell Fiscal Court will not seek reelection.

WPKY reported Friday District One magistrate Elbert Bennett will not seek a seventh term.  Bennett said after more than 20 year of service, it was time for him to step aside and explore new ways to serve the community.

During his service as District One magistrate, Bennett is especially proud of a number of achievements, including the development of the new hospital and health department, along with the establishment of the new judicial center.

Bennett also said he feels the county will continue to grow no matter who is elected to serve in his role.
