A Louisiana man has been charged in the theft of computer and software items from Walmart in Union City.

According to KYTN, Union City Police say burglary and theft of property charges have been issued against 41-year-old Peter Stifner of Bossier City.

Stifner was caught shoplifting on three occasions last Wednesday and Thursday by loss prevention officials.

Reports said Stifner allegedly took just over $1,900.00 in computer and software merchandise by using barcodes from lesser priced items.

Union City Walmart officials told police that Stifner had been arrested in Fulton for theft of $17,000 in merchandise from various Walmart stores.

He is currently incarcerated with arraignment set for next Tuesday.
