Lyon County sheriff seeks distracted driver who caused boat to be thrown from trailer

The Lyon County Sheriffs office is looking for a reckless driver who caused another vehicle hauling a boat trailer to lose its load in Kuttawa on Sunday.

KY 810 South in the 400 block was back open after a few hours when a wrecker was used to lift the boat off the road and back onto its trailer. The motorist hauling the boat said that he had to take evasive action from an oncoming driver who was reportedly distracted on their phone while moving into his lane.

The boat's owner said that the offending driver drove away, and did not stop to render aid or check on anyone's welfare.
