Lyon County student charged after reported assault at school

A Lyon County student was charged with assault after an incident on school property.

A 13-year-old female student was allegedly witnessed trying to throw another student down onto the asphalt and rocks while assaulting them. According to the report, the student being assaulted tried to get away, but the other student continued the attack. School officials did manage to put a stop to it.

The assault was reportedly the second one involving the 13-year-old female.

The female student was charged with assault and dismissed from school. She was turned over to a parent or guardian ahead of a review by a court designated worker.
