Mayfield man facing drug charge after being found asleep in a vehicle

A Mayfield man is facing a drug charge after being found asleep in a running vehicle.

Marshall County Sheriff’s deputies were called just after 3 a.m. Sunday to a gas station in Draffenville after a man was reportedly spotted passed out inside a vehicle that was running. The man, later identified as 35-year-old Chad Gillum of Mayfield, was awakened and spoke with deputies, but they said he appeared under the influence.

The investigation is said to have revealed methamphetamine in Gillum’s possession. He also allegedly told deputies that he had used meth several hours before they spoke with him.

Gillum was arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia, as well as public intoxication from a controlled substance. He was booked into the Marshall County Detention Center.
