McCracken ASAP chapter gets $625,000 federal grant from CDC

A local drug prevention coalition has been awarded a $625,000 federal grant from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

McCracken County Agency for Substance Abuse Policy (ASAP) is proud to receive a CDC Drug-Free Communities grant. The grant will help ASAP achieve its goal to lower substance use among local children, teens and young adults.

The funding is awarded by the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy to implement drug prevention strategies tailored specifically to teenagers and children over the next five years.

The coalition plans projects in collaboration with the Purchase District Health Department, Four Rivers Regional Prevention Center, Mercy Health, McCracken County Public Schools, and Paducah Public Schools.
