The McCracken County Sheriff's Office released its 2025 crime report on Thursday. 

McCracken County Sheriff Ryan Norman said crimes in the county were down 13 percent for the year compared to 2024 figures.

The sheriff's office did not investigate any murders in the county in the past year. The most common crimes reported last year were assaults, thefts, and illegal drug trafficking.

Deputies investigated 868 collisions, almost identical to the 870 collisions in 2024, including 204 collisions involving an injury. 

Fatal collisions were reduced from 11 in 2024 to 6 last year, with a total of 7 deaths on county roadways. 58 collisions involved a commercial vehicle in 2025. Nineteen percent of the collisions occurred on I-24, 15 percent occurred on US 45, and 10 percent occurred on US 60.

Deputies also wrote 1,454 traffic citations, 661 of which were for speeding.
