A McCracken County man will serve a 20-year prison sentence after a two-day jury trial for drug trafficking.

On Tuesday a McCracken County jury convicted 46-year-old Sean L. Irons of trafficking in methamphetamine, cocaine and fentanyl. The jury recommended, and the court imposed, the maximum sentence.

The convictions stem from 2023 and a coordinated investigation and prosecution by the McCracken County Sheriff’s Office and the McCracken County Commonwealth Attorney’s Office.

Irons has an extensive criminal history dating back to 1996, further underscoring the significance of this conviction. Due to Irons’ prior convictions, he will not be eligible for probation or parole for at least 10 years of his sentence.
