McCracken meth investigation nets two arrests

A McCracken County Sheriff’s Office narcotics investigation wrapped up with the seizure of meth, marijuana and hydrocodone.

Detectives had been monitoring suspected methamphetamine trafficking for about three months at a property in the 1200 block of Powers Road in Paducah.

During the search Friday, detectives seized approximately 59 grams of suspected meth, marijuana, a hydrocodone pill, digital scales and cash believed to be proceeds from illegal drug sales.

The investigation identified 59-year-old Ricky D. Collins as a suspect in the alleged drug trafficking activity. Detectives determined Collins was living in a storm shelter located on the property. Collins was out on bond from a previous arrest by the McCracken County Sheriff’s Office for trafficking in meth.

Detectives also arrested 51-year-old Kellie Simms of Metropolis after determining she had an outstanding arrest warrant out of Marshall County. During the search, detectives located a small amount of suspected methamphetamine inside her purse.

Detectives continue to follow leads and gather evidence, and additional charges may be coming.
