A Metropolis woman has been crowned the winner of the title Miss Cosmo International.
Yolina Lindquist represented the USA at the competition held in Ho Chi Mihn City, Vietnam. She won out over 70 other women from around the world, including the rest of the top five from the Philippines, Brazil, Panama and Myanmar.
The week-long pageant included competitions for evening gown, swimsuit and interviews.
The 21-year-old Lindquist is the first American woman to ever win the title of Miss Cosmo, which was first awarded in 2024. She won the national Miss Cosmo title just a month ago in El Paso, Texas.
A Metropolis native, she previously competed in the Miss Illinois pageant, placing as third runner-up in 2023 and first runner-up in 2025.
Lindquist graduated from Southern Illinois University last May with a Bachelor of Arts in German, Business Administration, and International Relations and Economics. She was named SIU's Economic Senior of the Year.
Lindquist’s platform “courage over cancer” raises awareness and funds for cancer care and research.
