The National Weather Service in Paducah has determined that a third local tornado took place during Wednesday's storms.
A damage survey in Ballard County after the storms revealed that a short-lived EF-1 tornado occurred along Highway 286 near the Gage community, about ten miles east of Wickliffe.
The tornado was only on the ground for about a half mile with a path 25 yards wide, but it packed peak winds estimated at 95 miles per hour.
The most severe damage was to a residence which suffered significant shingle and fascia damage as well as damage to an attached porch. Several large tree limbs were also downed by the tornado in the vicinity of the residence.
The National Weather Service also confirmed that straight-line winds damaged portions of Calvert City in Marshall County during the same storms.
The survey completed Friday stated that winds up to 95 mph impacted the city around 1:50 p.m.
A barn collapsed, numerous homes reported shingle damage, and many trees were snapped or uprooted.
A total of four regional tornadoes were spawned by the storms of April 5. In Missouri, an EF-2 with 130-mph winds killed five people in Bollinger County; an EF-0 caused some damage north of Murray; and in Crisney, Indiana, another EF-0 knocked down a barn.
