Newton's Supermarket in Bardwell closing this month

Newton's Supermarket in Bardwell is closing at the end of the month.

The Bardwell location will be closing on May 31st according to an announcement made to Facebook on Monday.

The Newton's said in the post this was not an easy choice, and added the decision came after exploring every possible avenue to remain sustainable in Carlisle County.

They said economic realities and evolving circumstances presented significant challenges that they were unable to overcome. 

Ownership assured everyone that even though it is an end to the Bardwell location they will remain open at their LaCenter location in Ballard County.

Attention Bardwell Customers-
After careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision to close our Newton’s Supermarket Bardwell location on May 31st, 2025. This was not an easy choice, and it comes after exploring every possible avenue to remain sustainable in Carlisle County. 

We knew from the start this market would be a challenge. We proceeded to our best ability with what we had to offer.

We are deeply grateful for the support we have received from so many individuals. Economic realities and evolving circumstances have presented significant challenges that, despite our best efforts, we have been unable to overcome. We recognize the impact this closure will have on our dedicated employees and the community, and we are committed to supporting our team through this transition.

We want to express our sincere appreciation to everyone who has been a part of Newton’s Supermarket in Bardwell – our customers, our employees, and our partners. Thank you for the opportunity to serve you. While this chapter is closing, we hope the connections we've made will endure.  

Although it is an end to THIS location, we will remain open at our LaCenter location in Ballard County. If you’re in the area, please make it a point to visit. And as always, remember how important it is to shop and support your local businesses!
