Livingston County fugitives arrested during Paducah traffic stop

A traffic stop and foot pursuit ended with the arrest of a Livingston County fugitive Thursday in McCracken County.

The McCracken County Sheriff's Office said just before 2pm detectives arrested 41-year-old Justin Metcalf of Smithland.

Metcalf, who was wanted on multiple outstanding warrants out of Livingston County related to charges of attempting to induce a minor to engage in sexual activity and failing to appear in court for a pending assault case.

Detectives said they saw Metcalf crossing into Kentucky from Illinois in a vehicle traveling on North 8th Street. Detectives initiated a traffic stop in the 1200 block of North 8th Street. Metcalf reportedly fled on foot once the vehicle was stopped. Detectives pursued and apprehended Metcalf after a short chase.

Authorities also arrested 37-year-old Jamie Metcalf of Smithland on an outstanding Livingston County warrant for failure to appear.

Detectives allegedly found a quantity of methamphetamine while searching the vehicle.
