Owner of vehicle involved in vandalism in Graves County not cooperating

The owner of a vehicle allegedly involved in vandalism across Graves County is not cooperating with authorities.

According to the Graves County Sheriff’s Office, a homeowner on Rozzell Church Road called them at about 3 a.m. Sunday after their mailbox had been run down. Deputies found several more that had apparently been intentionally knocked down by a vehicle along Old Dublin Road, New Dublin Road, and KY 1748. They were able to collect parts from a pickup at those scenes, including parts of a headlamp, pieces of grill, and paint. The items, along with surveillance video, were used to determine the make and model of the suspect vehicle.

Several interviews were conducted, and a suspect was identified. The truck was located at a home on Kingston Road, and deputies impounded it as evidence in the case. However, the owner of the truck would not give the detectives any information in connection with the case .

Detectives uncovered more instances of criminal mischief during the course of their investigation. Reportedly, some road signs had either been stolen or damaged along Kingston Road, Lawrence Road, and Bard Road.

Graves County Sheriff Jon Hayden said, "These senseless acts have caused financial pains and stress to the many homeowners who have had to deal with mailbox replacements. Luckily no accidents have been reported from intersections where stop signs were run over and knocked down."
