The 32nd ever Barbecue On the River is less than six months away, and this year's edition is headed up by a different organization.
As of last December, Paducah Main Street accepted the role of taking on barbecue stewardship. Over the past few years, Paducah Main Street has transitioned from a city-funded board to an independent nonprofit organization.
They'll take over from the group Beautiful Paducah, who ran the last four barbecues.
Last year's Barbecue On The River raised over $364,000 shared by dozens of local nonprofits and charitable programs.
The year's barbecue will take over the Paducah riverfront from September 24-26.
