Paducah Parks to remove aging foot bridge, pavilion this weekend

Paducah Parks and Recreation has announced that starting Friday, crews will begin removing deteriorating structures at two locations.

City officials said that they'll remove the pedestrian bridge off Seitz Street, spanning Cross Creek behind John Sheppard Field. Pedestrians are asked to use the nearby South 24th Street bridge instead.

crews will also remove an aging pavilion at Midtown Park off Adams Street. 

Both removals are expected to take two to three days to complete.

John Sheppard Field and Midtown Park will remain open during the demolition.
