Paducah man arrested on rape, sodomy and other charges

A Paducah man was arrested on several charges following an investigation.

In December, the McCracken County Sheriff's Office was contacted by the McCracken County Public Schools regarding alleged inappropriate pictures and other activities by a student. 

MCPS School Resource Officers reported that pictures of a sexual nature had been shown to students by a student and the student was possibly in a relationship with a middle school student.

All of the alleged criminal activity was alleged to have occurred off school property, but the students felt comfortable speaking about it with the school resource officer. 

Detectives with the McCracken County Sheriff’s Office began investigating the allegations after the tip was received.

On Thursday, 18-year-old Landon Player was arrested pursuant to an arrest warrant.  He was charged with rape, sodomy, unlawful transaction with a minor, sexual abuse and two counts of distributing obscene material. 

Player is being held in the McCracken County Jail.
