Parrott and Choate advance, O’Nan ousted in Mayfield Mayor’s race

The City of Mayfield will have a new Mayor.

Derrick Parrott was the top vote getter in a hotly contested three-person race in that community that is still working through recovery. Parrott and Tim Choate move on to November, both beating the woman who has led the recovery effort since 2021, Kathy O’Nan.

Parrott collected 40 percent of the vote, a five percentage point advantage over Choate, however the actual vote margin was just 80 votes. O’Nan was third of the three, another 170 votes back.
