Murray Police arrested a passenger on drug charges after the vehicle she was in was stopped for a traffic violation Tuesday night.

The traffic stop took place along North 12th Street just before 10 p.m. Tuesday. In the course of the stop, a Murray Police K9 hit on the possibility of drugs in the vehicle. The passenger, 39-year-old Leah Newcomer, was reportedly determined to have methamphetamine in her possession. She was arrested and charged with possession of meth and drug paraphernalia.

A computer check also revealed an outstanding warrant for Newcomer, accusing her of failure to pay in a separate case.
