Pay raises approved beginning in 2027 for next Princeton mayor and city council

Princeton's mator and city council members will receive salary increases in 2027.

WPKY reported Prnceton City Council held a special call meeting Wednesday to vote on second reading of an ordinance to increase the mayor's salary and those of the six city council members.

Beginning January 1st, the mayor's salary will be more than $51,000 marking the first pay increase since the mayor's job becme a full time position in 2023. 

Council members will be compensated just over $3,930 which marks the first pay increase in decades.

Council members voted 5-0 in favor of the measure with councilwoman Shelia Gates absent from the meeting.
