Paducah police captured a wanted Paducah man who had skipped out on a July sentencing hearing.

Police said 30-year-old Otis McKinney failed to appear in court for sentencing on a drug trafficking conviction. He also had multiple failure to appear warrants in McCracken and Marshall County for wanton endangerment, assault, fleeing or evading police, bail jumping and contempt of court.

On Friday their investigation led them to a residence in the 700 block of Cruse Avenue. Police located 28-year-old Shatoyia L. Cleary at the residence and she was also found to have an active assault warrant from McCracken County.

Meanwhile, McKinney initially refused to exit the house. Due to McKinney’s extensive criminal history, the Paducah Police SWAT team was called to assist. As they arrived, McKinney surrendered to police without incident.

McKinney and Cleary were both arrested and lodged in the McCracken County Jail. Cruse Avenue was closed for approximately one and a half hours.
