A portion of the new US 60 alignment will open to traffic near the McCracken-Ballard County line starting Monday.
Crews will also move vehicles onto the new US 60 at Kevil with help from flaggers and temporary signage. Expect brief delays and follow directions from flaggers during the transition. The temporary traffic control signs will be removed by the end of the day.
Old US 60 will be blocked just west of E. Clarkline Road starting Monday until project completion, which is expected in November.
Construction will continue on and near the new alignment over the coming months. The project includes reconstructing approximately four miles of US 60 from the existing four-lane highway in McCracken County to just west of Kevil, connecting with existing US 60 at the "S" curve.
When completed, the new US 60 corridor in this area will be a continuous four-lane highway.
