Power outage planned for portion of Marshall County this weekend

Portions of Marshall County will be without power late Saturday night into Sunday morning.

West Kentucky Rural Electric Cooperative announced Thursday the planned power outage will begin at 11:59 pm on Saturday evening, going into Sunday morning. It will be the third scheduled outage by TVA as they continue installing new equipment at the Benton Substation.

The outage will impact the following areas: Scale Road, Griggstown, Briensburg, areas north and south of Highway 68, Fairdealing, the Moors area, and Big Bear Highway.

Power is expected to be restored within approximately two hours.
