Severe thunderstorms bring down trees, power lines across the region

A round of severe thunderstorms on Sunday night caused downed trees and property damage in several locations of western Kentucky and southern Illinois.

The line of storms moved slowly across Livingston County from 755 p.m. until about 9:30 p.m.

A tree fell onto a house on in Salem, damaging a gutter and window. A tree fell onto US 60 southwest of Salem.

Three trees were downed about 4 miles north of Gilbertsville, and a power line was downed in Smithland.

In Marshall County, Partial roof damage of a mattress store on the north side of Benton. Multiple reports of trees and power lines down came in from the northern and eastern parts of the county.  

In Calloway County a large tree fell onto KY 94 east of Murray, and onto KY 121 in New Concord.

Lyon County checked in with multiple reports of trees and power lines down in the Eddyville and Kuttawa areas.

In Crittenden County, several trees were reported down in Marion.

Several roads were reported under water in Owensboro from flash flooding.

In southern Illinois, two trees fell on IL-146 north of Elizabethtown. Trees also fell into power lines in Cave-in-Rock and near Rosiclaire.
