Heat advisory Saturday through Tuesday

The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory in effect from Saturday morning through Tuesday afternoon.

The advisory includes almost all of southern Illinois and southeast Missouri, and western Kentucky counties west of the lakes.

Heat index values are expected to range from 98 to 105 through Monday, then from 105 to 111 on Tuesday afternoon.

A cold front will move through late Tuesday and will bring temperatures back to normal or even slightly below average.

Meanwhile, there's a chance for afternoon showers and thunderstorms all weekend.
