I-24 shut down for Christian County crash

A portion of I-24 in Christian County was shut down Thursday afternoon following a traffic accident.

The Christian County Sheriff's Office said the accident occured near the eastbound 72 mile marker when a tow truck pulling a box truck was struck in the rear by a tractor trailer. 

The impact of the crash pushed both vehicles into the median where they both overturned.

The driver of the tractor trailer was flown to a Nashville hospital for treatment.  The interstate was blocked for a period of time.
